Hi Loyd,

Glad to see your articles again. I just went searching for the gang from Extreme Tech because I miss the great podcasts and articles you published. You all are very knowlegable and informative. I really feel a loss in my source of information since ZD made all its changes. To me they forgot one important business idea, it is more expensive to get new customers than keep your existing customers. I think ZD hurt their customers by the changes they made. I no longer consider them an important source of information. I know their industry is changing but they had my attention by the stuff you did at ExtremeTech and also DL.TV.
I will keep an eye out for you on MaximumPC and Anandtech. But cannot find a good site for TV technology.

Best Wishes,
Victor

Loyd,

I hope your book gets approved. Be sure to ask John C. Dvorak about the "dummy contract" that book publishers like to use. According to Dvorak, the first draft of a contract a new author will see is the publisher's "this is the stuff we'd love to get away with" draft. Anybody with a competent attorney or agent should be able to get the most egregious stuff removed, and some will be able to get a truly fair contract, but the inexperienced or naive will simply sign that "dummy" contract and have virtually no rights and very little in compensation for their work.
